A compact ROG display with a 380Hz ambition.

The XG259QNS offers an overclocked maximum of 380Hz on its Fast IPS gaming panel. Keeping native resolution at 1920 × 1080 makes this a different choice from a QHD upgrade: the priority is a very high refresh ceiling on a compact screen.

FHD: 1920 × 1080
380Hz OC: Maximum refresh ceiling
Fast IPS: Display format

The HDMI limit is substantially lower

ASUS publishes a DisplayPort overclocked ceiling of 380Hz and a HDMI ceiling of 240Hz. For a purchase centred on 380Hz, check the actual graphics output and cable path rather than buying from the headline number alone.

Desk controls and peripheral connections

The monitor includes a USB-A hub, height adjustment and 100 × 100 mm VESA mounting. ELMB Sync and Shadow Boost provide optional picture tools. DisplayHDR 400 is listed, but it should be assessed separately from the advertised 0.3ms minimum pixel-response figure.

XG259QNS buying questions

Will an HDMI-only PC use the 380Hz mode?

Not through this monitor’s HDMI inputs: their published vertical ceiling is 240Hz. The 380Hz overclocked mode requires a suitable DisplayPort connection.

Does the USB hub provide a USB-C display input?

No USB-C video input is listed for the XG259QNS. Its video connections are DisplayPort and HDMI; the USB-A hub serves a different purpose.
