Four-fan cooling.
ROG Astral RTX 5080.
The ASUS ROG Astral GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 OC Edition Graphics Card combines 16GB GDDR7 with a four-fan cooling design. The white finish is the edition shown here. The exact manufacturer model is ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5080-O16G-WHITE.
The cooling layout, memory configuration and connection requirements below apply to this exact edition. Match them to the space, power supply and displays in your PC build.

Graphics platform
16GB GDDR7.
GeForce RTX 5080.
NVIDIA Blackwell is paired with 16GB GDDR7, 30 Gbps memory and a 256-bit interface. Capacity is useful when checking application and game requirements, but it does not independently establish frame rate or resolution performance.
Published clock modes
The published default boost is 2760MHz. GPU Tweak III OC mode is listed at 2790MHz. These are mode-specific values; sustained clocks depend on the workload and thermal conditions.
DLSS and ray-traced games
Supported games can use NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution, Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation. These require game/software support and do not promise the same options or frame rate in every title.
Choose the exact edition
ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5080-O16G-WHITE identifies this board. Its white finish must be matched to this edition’s official imagery and support information.
Thermal and board design
A four-fan assembly.
ROG Astral heat transfer.
The exact ASUS ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5080-O16G-WHITE edition uses a four-fan cooler. The verified features below explain how its fan assembly, heatsink and board construction work together. Keep the surrounding airflow path clear in the finished PC.
MaxContact heat-spreader contact
ASUS MaxContact is a manufacturing process used on the heat spreader to improve contact with the GPU. It complements the card’s thermal material and heatsink.
Phase-change GPU thermal material
The phase-change GPU thermal pad fills gaps between the GPU and thermal module as it changes with heat. No fixed temperature improvement or replacement interval is promised.
Protective PCB coating
A conformal coating helps protect the PCB against short circuits associated with moisture, dust or debris. It does not make the graphics card waterproof.
Automated assembly
ASUS Auto-Extreme manufacturing completes soldering in a single pass. The process is intended to reduce thermal strain during assembly.
Four-fan ROG Astral cooling
The ROG Astral cooler has a quad-fan design, including an additional fan beyond the three visible on the main face. Allow airflow space around the entire card, including its rear cooling path.
Vapor-chamber heat transfer
The vapor chamber helps collect and spread heat into the cooler. It works with the fan array and heatsink, rather than providing a standalone temperature guarantee.
Build compatibility
Space. Power.
The right display connections.
The ROG-ASTRAL-RTX5080-O16G-WHITE board has its own dimensions and connection layout. Check these before ordering; an RTX or Radeon family name alone is not a compatibility check.

Measure usable clearance
Use the manufacturer’s 357.6 × 149.3 × 76mm dimensions and 3.8-slot design. Confirm available length with front fans/radiators installed, card thickness around adjacent slots and power-cable space at the side panel.
Match PSU and cabling
ASUS recommends a 850W system PSU. The ASUS recommendation is based on an overclocked GPU/CPU system configuration, rather than GPU consumption alone. The card power connection is 1 x 16-pin. Confirm the PSU and cable arrangement for your full configuration.
Up to 4 displays
2 × HDMI 2.1b; 3 × DisplayPort 2.1b. 5 physical ports provide choices within the 4-display simultaneous limit. Monitor, cable, display mode and any DSC requirement determine available resolution and refresh rates. Maximum digital resolution is not a gaming-FPS promise.
Hardware control
Performance or Quiet.
A physical BIOS choice.
ASUS Dual BIOS provides Performance and Quiet modes. The physical switch and GPU Tweak III’s OC setting are separate controls. Follow the official model instructions when choosing a mode; neither guarantees a fixed noise level in every build.
Monitoring and customization.
ASUS GPU Tweak III provides monitoring and supported tuning controls. Use the exact model’s support resources for the current software and graphics drivers. Aura Sync ARGB lighting can coordinate with compatible components.

Questions about this edition.
Why do the product photos show three fans if Astral has four?
The quad-fan design includes another cooling fan beyond the three on the main face. The official front and rear illustrations show different parts of the same cooling assembly.
What clearance does this ROG Astral card need?
The published dimensions are 357.6 × 149.3 × 76mm, with a 3.8-slot design. Check usable space after front fans or radiators are installed, nearby expansion cards and cable routing. Card length alone is not a complete fit check.
What PSU connection should I prepare?
The official specification states 1 x 16-pin. The recommended 850W figure is for the system PSU, not a claim that the GPU consumes that entire amount. Confirm PSU compatibility and the manufacturer’s cable-installation guidance.
Is software OC mode the same as switching the BIOS?
No. ASUS lists 2760MHz default boost and 2790MHz OC mode. Software OC settings and a physical Performance/Quiet BIOS switch are separate controls; sustained clocks depend on the workload and operating conditions.
Can all 5 outputs drive monitors simultaneously?
There are 5 physical outputs but ASUS specifies up to 4 simultaneous displays. Choose ports within that limit and confirm the monitor, cable and selected display mode.
