A curved 31.5-inch QHD view at up to 280Hz.

The XG32WCMS uses Fast VA at 2560 × 1440 on a 31.5-inch screen. The curve brings the sides toward your viewing position. Compared with a 27-inch QHD panel, it offers more physical area rather than more pixels.

280Hz with several video-input choices

DisplayPort, HDMI and USB-C video have published vertical signal ceilings of 280Hz. USB-C supports up to 15W power delivery. That is a useful video connection for compatible devices, but a laptop may need its own power supply.

Contrast and optional motion controls

ASUS specifies a typical 4000:1 contrast ratio and VESA DisplayHDR 400. ELMB Sync, Adaptive-Sync and Shadow Boost offer different presentation controls. The 1ms GtG figure is a manufacturer response rating, not evidence of the complete motion performance at every setting.

XG32WCMS buying questions

Is this an ultrawide monitor?

No. Its native 2560 × 1440 picture has a 16:9 aspect ratio. A curved shape does not by itself make a monitor ultrawide.

Does the larger screen add workspace over 27-inch QHD?

At the same scaling, the native pixel workspace is the same. The content appears physically larger, with a lower pixel density at 31.5 inches.
