A colour-focused QHD desk, with room for 120Hz play.

The ProArt PA278QGV combines 2560 × 1440 IPS with 100% sRGB and 95% DCI-P3 coverage. ASUS lists Calman Verified status and a factory colour-accuracy specification of Delta E below 2. Those credentials are useful starting points; colour-managed software and the right preset still matter.

QHD: 2560 × 1440
120Hz: Maximum refresh ceiling
IPS: Display format

DisplayPort reaches 120Hz; HDMI reaches 100Hz

This is a meaningful distinction for a desk used for both design work and games. Use the compatible DisplayPort path for the highest published vertical ceiling. HDMI 2.1 is implemented as TMDS, so the version number should not be treated as a full-bandwidth guarantee.

Choose colour controls for the output you need

ProArt Preset and Palette provide ways to choose a colour space and adjust the image. For web content, start with an appropriate sRGB workflow rather than assuming the widest gamut is always best. The height-adjustable stand and 100 × 100 mm VESA mount support desk positioning.

Colour and desk questions

Will this charge a laptop over USB-C?

No USB-C video or power-delivery input is listed. Use DisplayPort or HDMI and a separate laptop power supply.

Does 120Hz make it equivalent to an esports-focused ROG model?

It offers more frequent updates than 60Hz, but its emphasis remains QHD creative work and everyday versatility. Assess the 5ms GtG rating and input limits separately from the refresh ceiling.
