QHD detail with a 300Hz ceiling.

The VG27AQM5A keeps 2560 × 1440 detail while reaching a 300Hz maximum on a 27-inch Fast IPS panel. It suits PCs that can sustain high frame rates at native QHD, rather than requiring a move down to 1080p for the headline rate.

HDMI FRL and DisplayPort for video

ASUS lists HDMI 2.1 FRL and DisplayPort 1.4, both with published vertical ceilings of 300Hz. The USB-C connector is a service port. It does not add a third video-input type or a laptop charging connection.

Optional visibility aids for different games

Dynamic Crosshair, Dynamic Shadow Boost and AI Visual provide picture and aiming aids, with ELMB Sync also listed. Try them according to the game and your preference; they are not evidence of improved PC rendering performance. ASUS specifies 95% DCI-P3 colour coverage.

VG27AQM5A buying questions

Can I run the screen from a USB-C-only laptop?

The monitor’s USB-C port is for service. You would need an appropriate video output path to HDMI or DisplayPort, with an adapter or dock capable of the intended mode.

Will 300Hz be useful if I play demanding games at much lower frame rates?

It provides headroom, but the screen cannot manufacture game frames. Consider the native-QHD frame rates your PC actually delivers alongside the value of higher resolution.
