240Hz Full HD, with a larger 27-inch view.

The TUF Gaming VG279QM5A uses a 27-inch Fast IPS panel at 1920 × 1080. Compared with a 24.5-inch Full HD monitor, the image is larger rather than higher resolution. It is a useful distinction if you prefer larger game elements or sit further back.

FHD: 1920 × 1080
240Hz: Maximum refresh ceiling
Fast IPS: Display format

A straightforward 240Hz connection choice

DisplayPort 1.4 and the two HDMI 2.0 inputs have published vertical ceilings of 240Hz. Adaptive-Sync and ELMB Sync add compatible motion-control options. Your source device and selected timing still determine the mode available.

Everyday sound and viewing controls

Built-in 2W stereo speakers offer basic audio, while GameVisual and Shadow Boost provide picture adjustments. ASUS lists HDR10 support, not a DisplayHDR tier for this model. Choose it for its Full HD 240Hz format rather than an unsupported HDR expectation.

VG279QM5A buying questions

Is the 27-inch model sharper than the 24.5-inch VG259QM5A?

Both have 1920 × 1080 pixels. At a larger size those pixels are spread farther apart, so the benefit is image size rather than greater native detail.

Does the 0.3ms minimum replace the 1ms GtG rating?

No. Both are published response figures with different qualifications. They do not describe the complete delay from an input action to an on-screen result.
